Arctic Paper tributes books and reading during the World Book Day

April 23rd is World Book and Copyright Day.
This tradition was started by UNESCO 14 years ago to stimulate reading all over the world. Arctic Paper takes part in celebrating the day and challenges its customers to do the same.

Arctic Paper has always had a special affinity with books and over the years has worked hard to be able to contribute to a good book by producing a high quality paper. Production of book papers at Arctic Paper Munkedals started in 1871. The mill’s long tradition in producing paper has always been at the forefront for environmentally friendly developments. Today; Arctic Paper can proudly offer one of the widest and cleanest book paper assortments on the market, including FSC and PEFC certified papers.

- Environmentally friendly paper has become ever more important and plays a special role in the total impression of a book.

We believe this is one of the reasons why our papers, Amber, Arctic and Munken, are well represented when the Most Beautiful Book of the Year is being chosen – says Hans Karlander Sales and Marketing Director.

World Book Day is celebrated in many countries in Europe and Arctic Paper’s product play a significant part in the selection of The World Book Day’s contest winners. As an example, it is a fact that 38 out of the 45 books nominated in the Latvian contest were printed on qualities from Arctic Paper. A similar event was organized by The Swedish Royal Library where the 25 books chosen as the most beautiful ones were printed on various papers made by Arctic Paper.

- Thanks to our long experience in the book paper segment we have a close relationship with publishers and books designers across the whole of Europe and we know that they often choose Arctic Papers grades. Most book lovers agree that a lot of the feeling of a book depends on the paper – continues Hans Karlander.

Celebrate books and reading with us on the 23rd April!
