Fashion designer Martin Bergström chooses Arctic Volume to present his new collection

This spring Martin Bergström, the internationally renowned Swedish fashion designer and creator, is launching a new collection entitled The Blue Cheese Salad. In association with Arctic Paper the collection is being presented in a catalogue which is part of Arctic Paper’s launch of a brand new range of design papers, Arctic Volume. Great care has been taken with the photography, printing and choice of paper.

It is no secret that images are crucially important in presenting the creations of a fashion designer. Colours, patterns, surfaces and details must all be reproduced in the best possible way. Fine paper company Arctic Paper has previously worked with fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Kenzo when they have presented their collections in advanced printed works.

Inspired by futuristic, space design and a variety of fresh cabbage, Martin Bergström has created a new haute couture collection. This is his sixth collection and it is based on silk organza, silk taft, silk chiffon and silk/cotton. Martin Bergström has a playful approach to fashion design, styling and illustration. His original drawings of patterns and prints are shown alongside Michael Schulz’s beautiful images of model Olivia R wearing The Blue Cheese Salad Collection.

The co-operation between Arctic Paper and Martin Bergström began when Arctic Paper was planning a brand new collection of matt coated papers under the name Arctic Volume.

“We wanted to show the creative potential in having the right paper in the right shade. We contacted Martin Bergström who produces amazing creations with many details and plenty of volume. As it turned out he was just about to launch a new collection and was interested in our idea. We have now printed a catalogue of sketches and photographs from his new collection,” says Project Manager Katarzyna Golownicka.

The collaboration began early on, and even when the photography was being planned Arctic Paper was involved as an advisor in order to ensure the perfect end result.

"I always present my collections in different ways. This is the first time I’ve choosen to show it in a catalogue. I collaborate with proffesionals in hair, make-up and choice of model. My vision of the clothes and the illustrations comes through in the final picture. The paper plays a mayor role to draw attention to the details in the garments and the illustrations, even though it’s 2D it gives a feeling of 3D. The clothes and illustrations great volume with many details is presented with an almost graphical distinctiveness", says Martin Bergström.

The Arctic Volume collection is a high-bulk, matt coated paper. It is available as certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, FSC.

All images in the catalogue may be used for editorial purposes. The following text must always be stated:
